AVWFC X Cadbury: A day of football, a lifetime of impact

For Bournville Women’s Football Club, inequality in the beautiful game has been anything but beautiful. While the men’s team enjoys access to top-class facilities, resources, and opportunities, the women’s side has often had to make do with far less.

So, that’s where Cadbury stepped in to help change the game.

Thanks to our ongoing partnership with the incredible Aston Villa Women F.C., we treated some of our Mondelez employees at Bournville (who are also part of their own Women’s Football Club) to a one-of-a-kind kickabout that championed them both as individuals and as a team.

We kitted each player out with new gear, gifted them personalised Dairy Milk bars, and unlocked the gates to Bournville’s historic football pitches for a game-changing training session with Villa’s Foundation coaches, giving the team the chance to sharpen their skills and experience professional coaching to fuel their passion.

But we didn’t call full-time there! We surprised the squad with AVWFC stars Alisha Lehmann, Rachel Corsie, and Mayumi Pacheco, who dropped by for a truly memorable meet-and-greet. The inspirational players shared their personal stories and motivated the Bournville team to continue changing the game in their own way.

And because Bournville is as much about chocolate as it is about community, the day was rounded off with a hands-on chocolate-making session in our Innovation Kitchen. It’s safe to say, everyone left feeling motivated, empowered, and… full!

This wasn’t just a day of football; it was a statement of support, a celebration of talent, and a step toward greater visibility for women in sport.
