• Scrunch a piece of baking parchment up, then smooth it out (this makes it easier to manipulate). Use the parchment to line a 20 cm frying pan.
  • Put the butter and golden syrup in a large, heavy-based saucepan. Set over a gentle heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter melts. Add the chocolate pieces and stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Remove the pan from the heat.
  • Set aside 5 Mikado sticks and 1 Shredded Wheat biscuit. Break up the remaining sticks and biscuits in a bowl and add to the saucepan, along with the desiccated coconut. Mix gently but thoroughly. Transfer the mixture to the lined frying pan, pressing it up the sides with your fingers to create a hollow nest shape.
  • Break up the reserved Shredded Wheat biscuit in a bowl and crumble in some of the Cadbury Flake. Cut the rest of the Flake into larger pieces like chocolate twigs and set aside. Break the reserved Mikado sticks into more twig-like pieces and set aside.
  • Scatter your broken Shredded Wheat and Flake into your nest, pressing them onto the surface so they stick to the chocolate mix. Leave the nest to set in the fridge before filling with the Mini Eggs and reserved Mikado and Flake twigs.
