Making a positive contribution to the current global public debate on diet and health is of major concern within Cadbury.
We have compiled a 12 point action plan information on our Global Corporate Website to address food issues. In this plan we have said that we would review our packaging to ensure that we can provide our consumers with the information they need to make more informed choices about our products and hence their diet and lifestyle.
As a result consumers can now expect to see information either on our packs or on this website, as packaging is updated, on the "Big 8" in relation to Cadbury products which are sold in the UK.

Be treatwise
Be treatwise is a new consumer education initiative designed to show you the role that treats, such as chocolate and sweets, can play in a healthy balanced diet and active lifestyle.
As part of the activity, from October 2006 the brightly coloured Be treatwise logo will be found on the front of millions of chocolate and sweets packs across the UK. The initiative encourages people to think about the treats they are eating and to use the Guideline Daily Amounts (GDAs) table on the back of pack to help them consume treats as part of a diet which is healthy and well balanced.

Labelling Information
Where the size of the packaging allows, the information on the "Big 8" will be printed directly onto the packs themselves along with the GDA (Guideline Daily Amounts) recommended by nutrition professionals for both the average man and woman.
Where the packs are smaller the packs will either display the "Big 8" or the "Big 4".
All packs however will provide the address for this website to which consumers can come to find out the additional information.
