The secret of women who feel calm and collected in their often-chaotic lives is to make regular time for themselves, reveals an independent survey conducted by Cadbury Dairy Milk. But how good are British women in taking those precious 10mins off for themselves?

> Thankfully close to a third of British women find enough time to ‘melt away’ on a daily basis (30%). The most likely to escape the pressures of everyday life day after day are the over 55s (49%), those living in Yorkshire (40%) and single women without children (38%).

> Cadbury Dairy Milk MeltsClose to one in five women (18%) claim to have not found time for themselves in the last month. The main culprits are 45-54 year olds (24%), those living in the South West (28%) and married women (or those in a relationship) with children (27%).

> Children are clearly detrimental when it comes to finding time to melt away with married Mums 4 times more likely to have not melted away in the past month than married women without kids (27% vs. 6%).

> The most popular time for women to ‘melt away’ is in the evening while sat in front of the TV after a tough day at work (35%). Outside of this over a quarter of women find it very hard to diarise time for themselves and will melt away at any opportunity they can find (28%). This is most true of 45-54 year olds (34%).
